I wonder why we can not live at ease.
I wonder why we can not live happily

Is it the movement of time,
the movement from our own past to the future?
I doubt there's such thing at all
but illusion that keeps us playing the old game
of improving and striving and wanting,
desiring and hoping, fearing and suffering

Is psychological time more than thought?
And isn't thought nothing but a mechanical response?

But we like to be machines, avoiding the painful, striving for comfort
Being in a total mess, we create time to secure ourselves against
the present misery. We say: "One day, I'll be living happily"
How many todays will it take?

Seeing all of this, what do you do?
Still resisting the misery inside you?
Once it flowers and grows, let it be, watch it carefully!
Only then it withers away and dies like a dead leaf!
